Everyday craziness

These are just some random pictures that were took because I need to document the every day craziness.  They kind of craziness that makes you shake your head and Yeah, I don't know.  Most were on the phone because I had to grab what was near before the moment was gone (or evolved into something even crazier)

She dressed herself
Teal pants, pink shirt with purple writing, yellow jacket, a Blue hat, and pink shoes.  NOT WORTH THE BATTLE.  So off to preschool we went.  Again NOT WORTH THE BATTLE.

Doesn't everyone carry their toy dogs in a purse?

Fell asleep in his high chair eating lunch
Doesn't everyone eat a poptart like this?

Emmett had licked all the frosting off the pop tart before he took a bite.  I gave it to him in the van on the way to a soccer game because he slept in and didn't have time to eat before we left.
Don't even think about taking this from me!

Sleeping with a golf club and ball, or football, or kick ball,  or in a padded girdle and football pant, or any other sporting equipment is completely normal at our house.

Loving Life!!

Typical group photo of the kids
This is actually one of the better group shots.  One kid is looking at the camera and not blurry so that is better than normal.
He's mad bc I started to clean him up.

Spaghetti night at our house looks like a spaghetti bomb went off.
Beacuse Elaina said

This is what Trey found when he came home one day.  Elaina dressed us up for a parade around the living room.  Yes that is Emmett in the Minnie Mouse Dress.  Poor Kid she loves to dress him up, but most of the time he doesn't fuss and just goes along with it.  Maybe he too feels that it isn't worth the battle or just loves his sissy that much.

Just a little glimpse of our normal every day crazy.

Civil War Battle, Space Man Batcave, and Christmas Lights

This weekend they held the Battle of Prairie Grove reenactment.  They do this every 2 years click here to see about the last time we went.  This was the 152 anniversary of the battle (we didn't know last time we were at the 150 anniversary which had a commentator and a LOT more people).  This time we borrowed 2 sets of noise reducing ear muffs from my parents and then got a pair of the ones you put inside your ears.  The plan was to give Elaina and Emmett the ear muff and Josiah the one that go in your ears.  That did not work AT ALL.  Josiah and Elaina started freaking out soon after we got into the park, Emmett not so much.  We stopped and got the ear muff on Elaina and Emmett and then put the ear plugs in Josiah's ears.  Elaina was fine, Emmett yanked the ear muffs off, and Josiah was still freaking out.  Emmett refused to wear them so I used my hands to cover his ears and we gave the muffs to Josiah.

Josiah was fine once he got the muffs and Elaina was picking up leaves and sticks and having fun.  She did like it when she could see sitting on Trey's shoulder. But she had the most fun once Emmett decided that he wanted down and they could play.

I think I caught her mid blink because of a cannon fire
Before long Emmett was laughing as the cannons fired.  When they started the gun fighting he would laugh and say Whoa Cow every time there was a big gun exchange.  He didn't even flinch as the cannons fired and some of them shook the ground.  Of course Trey's phone messed up so we didn't get a picture of him.  Trey had put Josiah then Elaina on his shoulders, and when he took Elaina down Emmett looked at him and said my turn.  So he got his turn.  That is when he started the Whoa Cow.

This was a much more pleasant experience than last time because no one was really scared or crying.

Before bed the kids got out the Batcave and some little space men that were maybe 2 inches tall.  They all played with it and had the best time.  They even discovered that Smokey the Firetruck would shoot them across the room.  So they had a blast doing that.  I was really impressed with how well (and long) they all played together.  I wanted to join them but was afraid I would mess up the dynamic of there game.  Normally if Trey or I (especially if both of us) play with them they will get a little crazy and at least one, if not all three, try to jump on us.  So I decided to just sit and watch.  I did get to play a couple of games of Don't Break the Ice and Boom Boom Balloon with them right before bed.

This afternoon Trey and Josiah put some lights up outside.  It is not super fancy but the kids love it.  Trey has found the major disadvantage of our super tall and steep sloped roof is putting up Christmas lights.  Our old house in Magnolia had an almost flat roof so it was easy to get up on it to put lights up.  Josiah is so excited that we have lights up that it makes these the best ones we have had.  Last year between the early snow and Trey's surgery we were unable to get them up.

Emmett's 18 month stats

  • Height: 34.25 inches
  • weight 26 lbs 10 oz
  • size 24 month and 2T clothes
  • Talks up a storm.  Can put a few words together to make sentences.  Favorite word: MINE, especially if it involves coins.  My Moneys.
  • Calls Elaina Sissy most of the time; if she doesn't answer then he will yell Laina at her.
  • Calls Josiah Siah all the time.  If you ask him a who is question the answer is alway Siah.
  • Eats really well.  Loves PB & J sandwiches, has to open them and eat both sides separately.  Cheese has to be his absolute favorite food.  You can't get cheese out of the fridge without him circling you and yelling cheese cheese cheese till you give him a piece.  Loves pizza and will tell you he wants pizza or to go to Ci Ci's if you ask him what he wants to eat just about every time.
  • Loves playing with Josiah and Elaina and thinks he can & should be allowed to do what ever they are doing.
  • Loves being outside.  Will throw a major fit when he has to come in.  I use him as the judge of when I should let the kids come in on nice days when they get kicked outside to play.  When Emmett is tired of being outside I figure it is time to come in and rest a little while.
  • I help, I help is what we hear all the time.  He loves to help empty the dishwasher and does a good job.  We just make sure we get the sharp knifes and glass out and the he hands us the rest and puts the utensils like spatulas and tongs in the drawer by himself. Also likes to help with laundry he can load washer from the basket (but you have to watch to make sure he doesn't try to put them in the dryer too),  move the clothes to the dryer, take the out of the dryer and put in the basket, then push the basket into the living room.
  • has started hitting things and yelling High Ya when he does it.  He really like to karate chop the 2 foot Ninja Turtle toy at Sams.
  • Likes the nursery better (probably because they give him Goldfish) but still has to token cry when we drop him off.  he does better when there are no little babies when I drop him off.  I still think he get insulted if he feels like we are putting him with the babies.
  • Suckers are his favorite candy.  He is ALWAYS asking for a sucka.  If they get to choose a pice of candy (still have a ton of Halloween candy left) he will always choose a sucker.  If he doesn't say he wants pizza when you ask him what he wants to eat it will sucka.
