They really do love each other.

We have entered the fighting ALL THE TIME stage at our house.  I constantly hear "Mom. Elaina (well Ewayta) won't leave me alone." or "EHHH, Bubba took that."  You get the picture.  But when they think that I am not watching they get along great and have a blast playing with each other.

Josiah is also really protective of her.  If he thinks that she could be doing something that would hurt her (and it is usually mimicking something he has done), he will freak out and yell for me.

It is really nice to send them out side and open the windows and listen to them play.  They have so much fun and will do what ever the other asks. They get along great, IF they think that I am not watching.

Caught in the act

I walked out in the backyard to see Josiah jumping off our fence.  I asked him what he was doing and he said nothing.  Of course I knew what he was doing but I didn't let him know that I did.

I just raised the blinds so that I could see out better and went back to getting supper ready.  We were going to the football game later and I needed to get the kids feed.

It was really funny to watch him push Elaina's car over to the fence and use it to climb up onto the fence.  He kept looking back to see if I was watching; I had stepped back where I could see him but he couldn't see me.

Other than the fact that I was afraid that we were going to end up in the ER on a game night, I was really impressed that he figured out how to get were he could see the ball that he had thrown over the fence into our neighbors yard.

He is definitely all boy and a little dare devil.

Emmett 4 month post

Last week Emmett had his 4 month check up.  Here are a few facts about Emmett at 4 months

  • Weight: 18lbs 10oz
  • Length: 27.25 inches
  • size 3 diaper
  • clothes: can wear some 3-6 month clothes, but those are mainly the 6 months not the 3-6.  I have moved you into your 6-9 month clothes.  They are a little loose but not too big.
  • A great sleeper.  Go to bed around 7 and sleep till 7 or later.  Sometimes you wake up around 9 pm and eat and play and talk to us a little while then go back to sleep.  On those nights you sleep later in the morning, you have even slept to 9 am on occasion.  I think you wake up at 9 pm to play with your daddy without having to share with your brother and sister.
  • Happy Baby.  You are a really happy baby.  You laugh and coo a lot. You do get fussy from time to time, but it is usually when you are really tired and are fighting sleep.
  • Dr set us you with a physical therapist about you having torticollis and a small flat spot on your head.  After meeting with the therapist we were able to get some home exercises to do with you to strecth out your tight neck muscles and were told the flat spot should resolve itself.  What a relief.
  • Eats rice cereal once a day and really likes it.  Still nurses when he are hungry.  Good eater and eats fast like your brother and sister did.  Sometimes you want to eat every 2 hours others you will go 4 or 5 hours between feedings.
  • drooling and chewing on everything you can get into your mouth, but still no signs of teeth.
  • Hates Hates Hates Tummy Time.  Getting more tolerant of being on your stomach but still doesn't really like it.  The home exercises seem to be helping you learn to tolerate it it a little more.

Finally a Lazy Day

Today (wow for some reason I never put the pictures on this and didn't post it last Friday 9-27) we had absolutely NOTHING to do and it was such a great feeling.  Between doctors and dentist appointments, preschool and playdates it seems like we have been going non stop.  I love taking the kids to play at the park and meet up with friends at the pumpkin patch and all the other great things that we have been doing but I was really excited to have a day that we were able to stay home.

After breakfast we played with the Bat Cave while Emmett napped.  We each had characters and tried to trap the others.  I really had a good time playing with the little figures.

After that we went outside and played in the front yard.  I don't know why but they love when they get to play in the front yard; I guess it is because they don't get to do that all the time.  I decided to set Emmett up in his exersaucer and let him play while watching his brother and sister.  I think that he had a great time too.

I was able to set up a little shade for him using a kitchen chair and a towel so he really enjoyed it.  I saw a picture of a friends kids painting with water on the driveway and thought that was something that my kids would love.

Josiah got a little upset that it would disappear so fast.  I was proud that he knew it was disappearing because the water was drying up.  He decided to get the chalk out so his drawing would last.  Of course the chalk ended up in the water and they were both amazed that the it bubbled when dropped into the water.

I didn't really know what would happen when it got wet, but figured it didn't really matter if they got some of it wet because we have had this chalk since before we moved up here over 2 years ago.  Josiah said that the wet chalk looked like paint; it was a lot brighter looking that the dry chalk.

They both had a blast dipping the chalk in the water and drawing with it and then using the brushes to paint over it with the water.

Next we had lunch and then naps. After naps we had a lazy afternoon of watching toons a having a snack. We also made jello jigglers.  The kids had the hardest time waiting the 3 hours for the jello to set up.  They also played in the backyard while I got supper ready.

After supper we had a netflix night since we weren't going to the football game.  The kids got to stay up super late and taking turns picking things for us to watch on Netflix.  Once the jello had set up they got to eat their jiggles and they were so excited.

It was a really nice day after having such a busy week.
