Major fall

We went out to my aunt and uncle's house yesterday to see my cousins from south Texas.  We decided to go yesterday b/c the weather was nice enough that Josiah could play outside with Tyler and Pete.  Of course I forgot my camera at home so I didn't get any pictures of them playing.  The only pictures that we got were with Trey's phone when Josiah fell.  I had been helping him walk down the steps, but decided he knows how to walk down them and it is only 2 steps.  Well that was a mistake.  He fell down them hitting his nose on the edge of one of them and then hit his head on the metal grate at the bottom.  It was a completely helpless feeling seeing him fall in front of me and not being able to do anything about it.  I knew that if I were to grab at him I would just make it worse, and that it would probably hurt his arm/shoulder as well as his head and face.  So I just had to stand and watch him fall in what appeared to be slow motion.

My little tough boy barely even cried.  He whimpered a little bit when it his daddy picked him up, but I think that was because all the adults' reactions scared him.  Then he cried a little when we washed his face but who wouldn't cry over that.

If all that was not enough the little guy fell off the bed and hit the other side of his head not 15 minutes later.  I guess it is a good thing that he is a tough little fellow.

Now we ask him about his bo bo and he will point to his head and say "ouch."   He looks and sounds all pitiful, but then will start laughing.
I think that it looks worse today than it did yesterday.

Pictures from Daddy's phone

Here are some pictures that Trey took with his phone.  They are of random things but I thought they needed to be posted.

These are of Josiah loving on his grandpa's dog at Thanksgiving.  The dog got in the house and Josiah ran to give it a hug.

Josiah loves the buggies at Home Depot.  He had to trick him with the Christmas tree display to get him out of the buggie.  We told him that he could go touch the trees and he was happy to get out of the buggie.  While he was checking out all the trees, Trey checked out and then put the buggie up.  It also helped that he got to see his Uncle Nic at work.

Josiah got to ride the fire truck with Bert and Ernie at Branson.  Trey and Josiah found something to entertain themselves while I was trying on clothes.

Trey let Josiah "drive" his truck in the drive way.  It was parked but Josiah loves to "drive," and Josiah didn't want to get out.  Trey locked the doors and started to walk off thinking that Josiah would want out; wrong, he continued to "drive" then smashed his face on the window and made faces at us.

Christmas Part 3

After we left Trey's parents we stoped by my parents on the way to my aunts for lunch.  We went ahead and gave my mom her gift (a camera) so she could use it during the day.  We helped her load up the food that she was taking and the we headed to my aunt and uncle's for lunch.  We had a wonderful lunch with turkey, dressing, and a ton of sides.  After lunch we realized that we left the gifts for my cousins at my parents house.  Trey decided to take Josiah with him and run back to their house to get them.  Josiah was so sleepy and we hoped that he would sleep in the truck.  He did take a little nap to help recharge his little battery.

After they got back my aunts and uncles gave Josiah gifts.  He sat on the couch and opened his gifts, but once again he wanted to play with the open with the open one instead of unwrapping the next gift.

We had a lot of fun visiting with our family.  Josiah was the only little kid there so he was loving being the center of attention.  Only one of his cousins was there and he is 12.  The other cousins will be in town later this week, so we will have to go see all of them later, I just hope that the weather is nice so that they can play outside.

Josiah found the bead garland that was used for decoration and decided that it would make a great necklace.  He had so much fun playing with the beads, but had a hard time walking with them.  The living room has wood flooring so every time he stepped on them he would slip down.  That did not stop him from playing with them though.

After we left my there we went back to my parents house.  Josiah once again racked up.  I left my camera at my aunt and uncle's house so I did not get any pictures at my parents.  I will have to get some from my mom to add to the post.

We are so blessed to have such a great family to spend Christmas with.  Even though we were all exhausted when we finally made it back to our house, it is nice that both of our families live close enough that we can spend Christmas with both sides.

Cereal Theif

Monday morning we all slept in till about 9:00.  So instead of the biscuits and gravy that I had planned on for breakfast, we just ate a quick light (normal weekday) breakfast.  Josiah saw his Teddy Grahams and wanted those.  I thought that he need something else so I gave him a few of the teddy grahams and a cereal bar.  I sat him up at his new little table that he got for Christmas and then went to get me some breakfast.

I fixed me a bowl of Rice Crispies and a cup of juice.  I went back into the living room and saw that Josiah was still sitting at the table and eating his breakfast.  He was devouring the cereal bar and had ate a few of the teddy grahams.  I sat down to eat just as he finished his cereal bar.

I took a couple of bites and Josiah decided that he needed to come see what I was eating.  I gave him a bite and he went back to his table.  I continued eating a few more bites and then I had a little hungry bird standing in front of me with his mouth open wide.  I gave him another bite, and what does the little monster do?

He takes my spoon and helps himself to my cereal.  I decide that if he is going to be feeding himself cereal that he needs to be at the table, so I tell him to go sit down.  I quickly drink the majority of the milk so that if he dumps the bowl it will be easy to clean up.  I sit the bowl in front of him and he eats the cereal like a big boy.  He ate all of the cereal; I had to fix me another bowl when he finished up.

He made a little bit of a messy but not much of one.  It is so amazing to watch my little boy discover how to do new things.  He is getting so big and grown up.

Christmas Part 2

After we finished up our Christmas we headed to my in laws to do Christmas with them.  Josiah had a blast, but was so exhausted.  He was going nonstop all day.  He knew that if he got still he would pass out and he did not want that.  He got to open one of his gifts before we headed over to met up with the rest of the family.
Hey what is this? It looks pretty cool.

Oh yeah the ball that I was playing with is still in the yard.

Finally got it open and this is awesome.

Taking a test drive.  Once he figured it out he was all over the place.
Still need to work on the steering though
You can tell that Josiah is easily distracted when opening presents.  After he rode his 4-wheeler for a while we headed out to met up with the rest of the family.  Josiah had a blast playing with his cousin Jase.
"Helping" hand out gifts.

Josiah got a guitar.

Jamming for Momma
Josiah was exhausted after the family Christmas.  We headed back to the in laws, and he and I went right to bed.  The next morning we got up and opened presents and had Christmas breakfast.  Of course Josiah was to wound up to eat.  He did eat a couple of pieces of bacon and that was about it.
Looking too cute in his Christmas pjs

Opening a present

He loves ride toys (even still in the box)

I love my little boy

Opening up another gift
Josiah had a great time at his grandparents house and racked up on the goodies.  They are trying their hardest to make him rotten, but it is only because they love him so much.  He loved all his toys and didn't even notice that we cleaned out his toy box to make room for the new ones.  That may have been that all his old toys were for babies and he is now a big boy.  Most of the old toys have been put up for his Sissy, when she gets big enough for them.

Christmas at our house

Thursday night after Josiah went to bed, we got everything ready for Santa.  We decided to do our Christmas Friday morning before we left to do all the family Christmas.  This was probably the first time that Trey has ever complained about Josiah being such a great sleeper.  He slept till after 9 and we knew that we had such a busy day that we didn't want to wake him up.  Trey was so ready to see Josiah's face when he saw all his toys that he could hardly wait.

When Josiah woke up, we got him dressed and told him to go into the living room.  He got a little distracted on the way in by the nightlight in the hall.  He finally made it and was so excited.
Gotta make sure the light is bubbling

Wow! Is this mine?
He loved all his balloons that Santa brought him.  But is absolute favorite was the one the truck that we almost didn't get.  We were unsure if he would like it or not.

The little guy LOVES balloons!

Reaching for his truck (his favorite)

Checking out his other truck
We let him play with his balloons for a little while, then we opened presents.  Josiah did ok opening presents but he was more interested in playing with what he had already opened. (Although he did open one of his Grandma's presents while we were getting ready.)   He did like sitting on Trey's leg while opening/playing with his gifts.

Gotta love this face and look

After the gifts and breakfast Josiah took a shower.  Then we had a visit by Santa's naked little helper.  Josiah loves to run around and play when he get out of the shower or tub (thank goodness he likes the bath again).  This time he decided to grab the trash bag that we had put all the wrapping paper and toy packages in and ran around the house with it.  I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures, although it was hard to get any that were decent because he wouldn't stay still for more than a second or two.

Branson

After the family Christmas Saturday, we headed to Branson.  We wanted to take Josiah to Silver Dollar City and they were only open on Sunday.  Leaving at night was no to bad, Josiah slept a lot of the trip, but got restless towards the end.  I took a few short naps on the trip up as well, poor Trey had to stay awake the whole trip and drive. We got in about 1 am, and of course, Josiah was up about 7.  We ate some breakfast and played in the room for a while, then  Josiah took a mid morning nap.  After his nap we took him for a swim while we waited for Silver Dollar City to open.

The weather was nice and Josiah had a blast.  He loved all the lights and decorations, but was about a inch too short for the kiddie rides; which upset Trey more than it did Josiah.  We did take him into the fort where you can shoot all the balls.
Josiah had fun putting the balls into the little cones that sucked the balls up.

He had fun throwing the balls across the play area.
He had fun picking up the balls and putting them into the air guns that would shoot the ball across the fort.

Trey sat him in the basket that held all the balls and he started playing with all them.  He did not want to get out of the basket when I tried to pick him up.
After playing in the ball pit we stopped to pose for a family photo next to one of the Christmas trees.  This photo shows us all nice and sweet.

Then Josiah had to whack me in the face.

Then kiss me to make it all better.

Shortly after the photo op we got to see what we came for.  The lighting of the Christmas tree.  Josiah was in complete awe.
He was silent and just stared at the tree.  His face was priceless and made the trip.  I must admit that the tree is impressive
After the tree lighting we went and found a place to watch the parade.  We were halfway down a hill and Josiah liked the light parade almost as much as the tree.

He would watch one float all the way down the hill and the spin around and get ready for the next.  Here are a few of his favorite thing from the parade.

We had an awesome trip and I think that Josiah really enjoyed see all the lights.  I am glad that we were able to take him to see it.  Next year he will be big enough to ride some of the rides.
