Josiah's 7th Birthday Party

Josiah recently turned seven.  It is hard to believe that he is getting so big.  He decided that he wanted a Star Wars party, and after much debating he decided that he wanted a BB8 cake.

It was a fun cake to make and we finally found an icing that Josiah actually liked.  So it looks like he will be having chocolate incing on his cakes for a while (not that I am complaining about that or anything).

He had wanted to have his party at the house.  But between the rain we get in West Memphis during May and our house being on the market, we didn't think that would be a good idea.  So we decided to have it at the gym at our church, and it was a great place to have a party.

He had several friends show up, and they had a blast.  We let the kids play basketball while we were waiting for everyone to arrive.  Then we used the scooters to have "pod races."  Josiah loved racing his friends on the scooters.

My mom had gotten inflatable light sabers for us to use as party favors, so we aired them up for the kids to have light saber fights.  I think that was everyone's favorite part.  The kids all paired off and had battles.  Of course when Trey joined in the fight it was all the kids against him.

The kids were all tired and thirsty, and it was time for pizza.  After the pizza we sang happy birthday and had cake.

This was one of the easiest parties that we have had and the kids seemed to have the most fun.  They loved being able to run and play with each other.  Nothing really structured or planned out other than a few games to encourage the kids to interact and play with each other.  And of course getting to hit each other with light sabers is always fun.

Thanks to everyone that help us celebrate Josiah's 7th birthday.
