First we went to eat a Larry's Pizza and then we gave them their gifts.
We got Josiah a circuit board set. He has played with some at school and loves them. Trey found these and I think they might be the same kind he plays with at school. Josiah was so excited when he got them. He couldn't wait to show us how to make the designs. Once he noticed I was taking pictures he told me to put it on Facebook and show Mrs. Wilson.
He really likes anything science and/or math related, so we are really trying to encourage that. This was the perfect toy for him. He was able to build a design and then test it to see if he did it correctly. The instant feedback he received when he flipped the switch was great for him. If it worked he took it apart and started a new one, and if it didn't he looked at it to find and fix the problem.
Elaina is all into arts and crafts. She loves to draw and make things, so we got her a Lite Brite. She loved it. She immediately started creating a picture on it and ran to my closet to look at it in the dark. She didn't spend to much time on it today though because she had to finish all her valentines for her classmates. She wanted to make the so we let her. She had a blast with all the stickers, glitter, glue, and jewels. I know that she will continue to love her Lite Brite now that her valentines are done.
It was a little harder to find something for Emmett. He is all over the place with what he plays with and has way to many toys. He loves being outside so we thought that he needed something for outside, and when Trey saw the stomp rockets we knew that he would love them. (Josiah had a set when he was about Emmett's age. He loved playing with them with our neighbors in Springdale. They even set it up so that our neighbor in a wheelchair was able to play with them too. I think all the kids laughed the hardest when Noel fired the rocket with his wheelchair.) The rockets were a instant hit with Emmett too.
He didn't even wait to go outside to start playing with them. He was firing them in the living room. Once we set them up outside, he wanted Elaina and Josiah to play with them too. They all had a blast firing the rockets. Only one got on the roof but Trey got it off when he got up there to blow the leaves off it. Emmett's laugh every time the rocket shot off the base was priceless. I love that little boy's laugh. You cant help but smile when you hear it.
The kids had a great early Valentines Day and will have more fun tomorrow at their parties.
