When we found out we were having a boy when I was pregnant with Josiah, Trey would joke and say that he was going to be a 6'6" left handed quaterback. Well he still has a chance to be a 6'6" quaterback, but he will not be a left handed one.
Elaina is our little lefty. We have noticed that she does a lot of things with her left hand when she is playing. She also feed herself much better with her left hand (less mess and can get food out of bowl better). I also noticed that when I paint her finger nails that the left hand is always the first to get all chipped up.
We have started to encourage her to use her left hand since she is showing a preference to it. Trey had shown her once how to bat left handed off the tee and she remembered and now hits the ball that way when she bats.
She will watch us with somethings (like eating or writing) and switch hands, but we just remind her that she does better with the other hand and she switches back.
While she has gotten the batting down, I think we need to work on her sports wardrobe. She always puts the helmet on backwards. I think it is because it is so big that she puts in on that way so the bill will fall down on her neck and not cover her eyes like it would if she at it on properly.
These pictures were of the kids and Trey playing ball in the yard on Labor Day. The were so excited that their dad had a morning off and that they could play. Emmett on the other had decided that he would make the most of his Labor Day by taking an extra long morning nap.
He did have a fun time playing later in the day, while his big bother and big sister napped. Sometimes a boy just needs to play in peace without a crazy brother and sister around.
