Sunday morning the kids found out that they Easter Bunny had came to visit them. They each had a gift and some candy (or snacks for Emmett) in their basket. There were 2 sets of eggs with a note that said that there were sports eggs for Josiah and Hello Kitty eggs for Elaina and that Emmett could find any of them.
Elaina was excited to get a Puzzy (fuzzy) Unicorn, Josiah loved his cap gun, and Emmett was ecstatic to get a ball. While they liked their toys, they were not happy to have to get a picture made together.
I loved hearing Elaina laugh we she found an egg in a spot that she thought was funny. She would give the biggest laugh every time she found one in a shoe or in the blinds. It was the greatest sound.
We then got dressed and headed to church for breakfast. After breakfast the choir performed their Easter Cantata and then sermon. Josiah decided that he wanted to go to big church and he did great. He enjoyed the signing but didn't like that the songs were not coming from the hymnal.
After the service the kids got to hunt eggs again. Emmett found his 2 and decided to sit down. He had what he needed and didn't want to get any more. Elaina and Josiah loved to be able to run around all over the place and get eggs.
The best part of the day was listening to them tell us why we celebrate Easter. While we are having fun hunting eggs, we make sure that they know that true reason we celebrate. Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin and then rose on the 3rd day. It was awesome to hear Josiah recite an Awana memory verse during the service when the pastor mentioned that Jesus calmed the storm. Josiah said, "Who is this that even the wind and the sea obey him."
