1st Major injury

Today Josiah had his 1st major injury.  Well it was not that bad but did require a trip to the ER.

He was at my parents house and decided that he needed to ride his inch worm down the steps.  The inch worm broke most of his fall, but he face planted on the grate at the bottom of the steps.  He was really a trooper through it all.  He only cried when it 1st happened and then if he saw any blood.

We decided to bring him back to Magnolia to the ER, thinking he would be seen faster here.  We were right we were in and out and all glued up in about 30 minutes.

Josiah let them check him in and look at his bo bo without making a peep.  He did even whimper when they cleaned it with peroxide.  The only time he got upset was when Trey laid him down on the bed so they could glue him up.  I think he was afraid that he we were going to leave him or make him take a nap  or something.  He just was clinging on the Trey and reaching for me.

Trey was holding him down while they glued his head up, but he didn't really fight it at all.  He was crying a little but not much at all.  I was afraid that he was going to kick and scream.  I guess that is a huge advantage of Dermabond over stitches.

After he got fixed up and it was time to go, he did not want to leave.   He thought that the floor buffer was very interesting .  He fussed a little as we walked past it toward the exit.  Then as we were walking through the waiting area he got mad that we didn't let he stop and play with the puzzles.  He cried louder when we left than he did when he was getting his cut looked at and glued.

Surprisingly he has left the band-aid on it and has not tried to pull it off.  I am so thankful that he has not tried to pick at or rub on his bo bo.  He has been going strong all day, so I don't think that it is bothering him any.

Praise God that he is all he got was a little bump on the head that didn't even slow him down.
