The morning started off great. We had one accident during the night around 3:30, but then woke up dry. He went to the potty this morning and pee peed in it no big deal. Then you could tell that he was scared to poop. He got back on the potty and I was cheering for peeing in the potty and he pooped in it. So needless to say we were super excited about the potty training.
Well then it turned into a day of disappointment. Josiah discovered that if he told us potty or poop that he would get to go to the bathroom and then the could use his stool to get to the sink and wash his hands. The pottying turned into a battle over you have to potty to wash your hands. He would get furious if we didn't let him wash his hands, and he would throw a huge fit.
At one point we were soooo frustrated b/c we would take him to the potty and he would be saying "done done" before we even got him on the potty. He would start saying "wash, wash" and cry trying to get off the potty. This would happen several times in a matter of minutes then he would get mad and throw a fit b/c we wouldn't let him play in the sink. Not 30 seconds after we take him out of the bathroom, he would pee all over the place. Talk about frustrating. Now I know why they tell you to throw all your diapers away day one.
It got to the point that he would say potty and we would ask him if he wanted to go potty or wash. He would tell us wash, and we would ask him if he had to potty and he would say no. At least he would tell the truth. He would get soooo MAD when we told him no.
We did end the day with a few successful pee pees, so I have not completely given up hope. I don't really think that we will be fully potty trained in 3 days unless we have some major breakthroughs tomorrow. I wish we would decided to do this at the beginning of the week instead of the end.
