Dance Recital

Last weekend Elaina had her Spring Recital or Concert as they call it.  She has taken ballet at Cross church this year and has absolutely LOVED it.  She had wonderful teachers that she loved and where great with the kids.  She really learned a lot.

The week before the concert was full of pictures and practices.  She loved all the extra time she had to see her dance friends.  It was a crazy week with trying to get everyone where they needed to be.  Josiah had t-ball pictures the same day as Elaina's dance ones.  But in the end it was worth all the craziness.

I loved watching her dance.  She did great and you could tell that she really knew her dance.  She was not shy or timid at all.  She made sure she was on her spot and only got off of it once after they did their circles, but she quickly found it and went right back to dancing.

I love the costumes that they had for this concert.  The girls all looked so pretty.  The theme was hymns and Elaina's song was What a Friend We Have in Jesus.  The best part of that being the song for her dance is that now she can sing a hymn that she had never heard of before this year.  That song also happened to be my grandmothers favorite hymn.  I was able to use that to tell the kids about my grandma.

Me trying to get a picture of Elaina was the hardest part of the whole thing.  She let me take about 2 pictures before her concert then she said silly face and started making faces.  After that she didn't want anymore pictures made, I couldn't even get her to take one with her friends.  Elaina's class doesn't sit with all the other girls on the side of the worship center; they sit up front with a parent.  This time we were assigned the front center section, so I was able to get some really good pictures of her during her dance.

After the recital was over she was ready to go see Daddy,  Mamaw, and Papaw.  She also saw a couple of friends that were not in her class.  While she was climbing up the stairs to see a friend I was able to get a couple of great pictures of her.

She got a great year of ballet and we will truly miss the Cross Church Dance Ministry next year.
