Thursday we went to Silver Dollar City in Branson. To say Josiah had a BLAST would be putting it mildly. We had been telling him that we were going there and he was calling it City. Thursday morning while we were eating breakfast we saw a commerical for SDC and I told Josiah that is where we were going. He saw the roller coaster on the comerrical and said "I want to ride that!" Of Course it was the biggest one in the park.
The first thing we did when we got there was take him to the measure center to get him a bracelet that stated his height so that he would not have to be measured at each ride. They also gave us a piece of paper stating which rides he could ride. When they measure him they had him stand up with his back to the wall and placed the level on his head and locked it in place then had him step away to read the measure. He was 39.5 inches tall!!! My 2 year old is almost 40 inches. Wow!! Since he was over 36 inches he could ride most of the rides, but since he was under 48 inches, he had to ride with an adult. Trey and I took turns riding with him.
We started out in the area that has a lot of kiddie rides. The 1st thing he wanted to ride was the little roller coaster. Trey was going to ride with him but the car was a little to small so I had to. That little coaster was rough and I was afraid that Josiah wouldn't like it, but boy was I mistaken. He giggled and squealed the whole time.
After that we rode the Elephant (similar to the Dumbo at Disney), and he rode the tea cups, swing, and pirate ship ride with Trey.
After all those rides we went to eat lunch and the rode some more. I rode the lost river with him, and he and Trey rode the lost river and played in the tree house.
We were all getting hot so we decided to go watch the Wallenda's show. We had recently watched their show Life on a Wire on TLC or Discovery, and I was excited about watching it. Elaina who had done great all day was not to happy about the cheering during the preshow. We decided to wait till the show started and she how she did, but made plans for me to leave with her if need be. Once the lights went out and the show started she was fine. Josiah really liked the show, but the sitting still in a dark theater was just too much. It wasn't long until both kids were asleep. After the show Josiah woke up when we were putting him into the stroller. He was having a little bit of a melt down, so we decided to leave before we all got frustrated. He was just soooo tired that he was not a happy camper, but he was even more unhappy that we were leaving.
We did not make it to several of rides that he could go on, or the new part of the park that was just opened for little kids. There will be plenty of new things for us to do next trip.
