We decided that we were going to get Josiah a big boy bed for Christmas, so that the baby could have the crib. We were looking at a toddler race car bed, until I noticed how long he was when he stretched out in his crib. We didn't want to get him a bed that he would out grow not long after he got use to it. When we saw that they make a race car bed that can be a toddler and then convert into a twin we were really interested. We had been looking online and debating on getting the bed, and then Wal-Mart had a Thanksgiving Day special on the bed. We decided to go ahead and get it b/c with the sale price and the free site to store shipping it was to good of a deal to turn down. The only down side of the site to store shipping was that it came in while Trey was gone recruiting and that it had to be picked up by Friday or it would have been sent back.

No sure what all is going on but this looks pretty cool
Well when Trey got it the box was huge and stayed in the back of his truck over night while we decided what to do with it. Instead of cleaning out a space in our storage shed we decided to go ahead and set it up in his room. It is his Christmas present, but he is still to young to understand it all anyway.
Today Josiah helped Trey set it up. He carried one of the wheels from the kitchen into his room all by himself. He also helped Trey carry the side panel down the hall.

Daddy's big helper!!
He was a great supervisor while Trey was putting it together. He watched everything that his daddy was doing. When Trey decided after the 1st wheel that he needed his drill for the super long screws, Josiah decided that he needed to make sure that daddy did it right. I don't know we may have a future NASCAR official on our hands, that or maybe a tire changer.

After we put it together and got all the decals on it we put his crib mattress in it. We laid him down on the bed and he was super excited. He lay in his new bed for a few minutes, then got up to check it out some more.

1st time in big boy bed

Alright I think I would rather play than sleep.
If he had not been sick today we would have tried his nap in his new bed. He has had a fever all day and throw up a couple of times last night and has diarrhea a few times. We knew that he needed good sleep and was afraid that he would have gotten up to play in/with his new bed. We also want him sleeping in his big boy bed to be a happy occasion not something that he wakes up sick in the middle of the night doing.

Exploring his new bed
I have already decided that we are getting another baby gate to block off the living room, so that if he gets up at night that the only room that he could go into would be our room. I think will help me sleep better until he use to his new bed.
