1 year stats (2 weeks late)

Josiah went to the dr for his 1 year check up last Thursday (May 13th). We were so busy chasing him around the room that we didn't remember to take a picture. After the dr came in & we found out that he had an ear infection we did take any after either. Josiah was teething (he already has 8, but has few more trying to come in) and every time that he is teething he seems to get an ear infection. I guess that it is a good thing that he usually get 2 in at a time. The dr told us that sometimes teething can cause the Eustachian Tubes in the ear to swell and that can cause them to get clogged and that can cause an ear infection. We knew that Josiah had a cold but had no idea that he was sick with an ear infection before we went to the dr. If Josiah were any older I would think that I have an Oscar winning actor on my hands. He was fine before the dr but after he was a sick clingy baby. He would not let me put him down at all even for a nap, and this is coming from the child that never wants to be held. If his toe touched the floor he would scream like there was no tomorrow.
He was so pitiful. He would fall asleep and then wake up crying b/c he couldn't get comfy, but he refused to be put down. I enjoyed the snuggle time but hate that it was only b/c he was sick.
Josiah at 1 year old you...
  • are 26 lbs. 8 oz
  • are 32 inches
  • wear size 18 months
  • take 3-4 8oz bottles (some of them whole milk others formula)
  • eat cereal for breakfast everyday
  • 2-3 stage 2/3 foods a day
  • like any table for that we will give you. Some of your favs:
-mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, french fries, tortellini, popsicles, chicken,
  • LOVE your sippy cup with juice (you wear as much as you drink though)
  • make noises by hitting your mouth with your arm
  • try to stick out your tongue and go pffft, but you usually just spit on yourself (which is why you wear most of your juice)
  • walking/running everywhere; you still crawl every now and then; especially if you fall down. You hit your knees and crawl off like you meant to do that.
  • like to go on wagon rides
  • chatter all the time. In the evenings on the way home you tell me all about your day; I just can't quite make out what you are saying yet.
  • act shy when someone talks to you. You lay your head down and just smile real big
  • throw monster fits if we take something away from you. You act like your feelings are just crushed
  • cry if I drop you off in the room at daycare. If I can give you to Ms. Paula in the hall or another room you are happy, but you don't like me leaving you in the room with all the babies, since you have been moved to the "big boy" room.
  • love chasing Cheeto & Magnet. Magnet is your new favorite b/c he never lets you touch him.
  • can completely demolish a clean living in the blink of an eye.
  • love being outside. Unfortunately you seem to have my fair completion, so we have to coat you in sunscreen.
  • still love to take baths and play with all your tub toys
  • when you want a snack you will act like you are taking food out of one had and put it into your mouth with the other. I figured this out after you did that; then got a can of your puffs, bit the lid off and tried to get a snack (the can was empty). I gave you some out of another can & you were happy.
  • love to pull all the blankets, pillows, and anything else that is on the couch onto the floor.
  • like to carry your little pull string puppy around by its tail.

You are such a happy, loving child and your daddy & I thank God every night for you. We love you so so much.
