We returned home Friday from visiting family to a nice surprise. Trey had texted a friend to check on the weather conditions here around 2 and we were told that there was no snow or ice or anything. So we continue on our way home and finally the thermometer on the van quiet dropping and stayed around 35 or so. When we were about an hour from home our neighbor texted to see if we were home yet. We told him that we would be shortly and asked if he and his family had returned home yet. He responded by texting a picture of our house covered with snow. Thankfully the roads were clear and we made it home with out any problems.
Needless to say the moment I showed Josiah the picture he became supper excited. He had fought sleep all the way home, but thankfully he fell asleep shortly after seeing the picture. He was still half asleep when we pulled into the drive way, so we were able to get him in the house long enough to get him a coat and pair of mittens (I had bought him some gloves for Christmas, but it was to hard to get them on him).
He and Trey went out and had a snow ball fight. Josiah has been wanting it to snow just so he could have a snow ball fight. It snowed just enough to stick to cars at my parents house Christmas night and we were able to scrape enough off to make a few snow balls that we could throw at each other. But this time he was able to make his own and he had a blast.
Elaina wanted no part of the snow. As soon as she walked in the house she went straight to her kitchen and started to play. I asked her several times if she wanted to go outside and play in the snow and she kept saying no. Normally if Trey and Josiah are outside she is throwing a fit and kicking and screaming until she gets out with them. I guess the little girl really missed her kitchen.
